Shoreditch, London

A part of this?
A part of me.

I stood
Embarked
In commerce
With your vision
And art

It took me by surprise,
From my toil,
But in no more
Was it foreign to me
Than the making
Of my labour

I saw a bond in living
Where no culture or role-play
But for the love in human suffering
Could separate life
from art
And art
From all human life

Commercial Road, London

I spoke for peace
And time
And the arc of human progress

The part for
Each
Man to play
And the triumph
Of science
& destiny

Rising for hope
And honour
And prestige
And trust

I spoke for love
For our people,

And you hung up,
In disgust.

Shoreditch, London

Time
It makes men of us all

Can we visit?

Upon the stone warmth floor
We polish tarmac
And dirty wheels

The bitumen
The part
Left out for education

With my brothers
From a land where
Earth and Fire
Made the Garden
Of human delight
